Cincinnati wedding makeup/Lucy, married!

This post is long overdue, since Lucy's wedding was last fall! She's been on my mind because we just did a FACEing makeup class together and I realized I had never blogged her. Better late than never!
Lucy was very nervous about a "white lady" doing her makeup (her words) because she had never liked makeup done by non-Asian makeup artists. In fact, she brought her most bitchy friends to her trial (we laughed about it at the end of the trial) to back her up in case she hated the makeup.
Proud to say, this white lady won her over and we are now thick as thieves!

Cincinnati bridal makeup/more Yeyin!

So once I saw these gorgeous images from my new BFF Amanda (thanks again for all the referrals you have been sending my way; I still owe you that makeup session!!) I just knew I had to share a little more of the beautiful Yeyin!
This bride was very blessed to have two fabulous photographers!!

Cincinnati makeup artistry/Yeyin married!

Thank you Varland Photography for the beautiful images! Yeyin's sister booked me as a wedding gift (so much better than another crockpot, am I right?) and I so enjoyed learning more about the culture of Asian beauty from them that I almost forgot I was doing a wedding. I definitely find it fascinating; how tastes in certain aesthetics vary by era, race, and culture. But I digress; that's another topic!
Yeyin wanted a very natural look but wanted definition to her eyes, so I used plenty of liner and individual lashes.I also did some very strategic brow shaping, as she tends to have very straight brows with little arch. I love those glowy cheeks. I also love seeing reception photos and how beautiful the makeup looks hours later.

Marge

I pilfered these from Tine Hofmann's blog this morning
and I am completeluy blown away by them! I had the pleasure of doing makeup at the salon of one of my very favorite people, Sam Hills. (sorry ladies; he told me he is fully overextended with weddings for the rest of the year) The lovely Dora Manuel was also there, from Viva Bella events.
Doesn't Marge look radiant!? She was a little unsure about the makeup at the trial; she is a nature baby and unaccustomed to wearing much makeup, but I think she looked very natural. As usual. tine has outdone herself here. Look how cool salon Cherry Bomb looks!

Ming

These are long overdue-I did this wedding the first weekend of March, the day of the big snowstorm.

As usual, Tine has outdone herself on these.

Ming was totally transformed by the "falsies"-I coaxed her real lashes into submission with my trusty Japonesque mini curler because they naturally grow straight out; same with her brows.
It is very easy to overdo it with this type of a brow as far as waxing and tweezing goes, so be very careful if you have brows that don't all grow in the same direction!
She is quite the glamourpuss, is she not?
On another note, I am abashed that I was in Shelley's salon (Michelle Connley & Co;Hyde Park) with hair like that-but remember, I was digging my car out for an hour that morning!
